Posting a new candidate to the AMR database (Illustration below) Main Menu

To post a new candidate to the AMR database, click on "Post a Candidate".

Type in a unique id number that will allow you to identify this candidate. This may be your own id system to help you better identify this candidate when someone contacts you.

In the "Specialty" drop-down box, we have selected "Family Practice" as this candidate's specialty. If the candidate has a second sub-specialty, include this in the "Secondary Specialty" drop-down box. (Tip: To find a specialty quickly on the drop-down box, just press the first letter of the specialty after the box has dropped down.)

Next, we will select the candidate's preference of "Situation" ("SSG" for single-specialty group situation, "MSG" indicates multi-specialty group situation, "Ptr" indicates partnership situation and "Admin" indicates administration situation) and "Community Size" preferences. If the candidate has more than one preference of situation or community size, click the first selection, then while pressing the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard, click other selections.

Select the candidate's degree from the drop down menu.

Select the candidate's training, whether this candidate is "AMT" (American Trained", med school and residency), "IMG" (International Medical Graduate) or "Canadian Trained".

Select the candidate's "Citizenship" status.

Select whether the candidate is currently a "Resident or Fellow", whether the candidate is "BC" (Board Certified) or "BE" (Board Eligible). If the candidate is a resident, indicate "BE". Enter the "Year of Medical Degree" (year graduated with degree), whether or not the candidate is "Bilingual", select "Area" or state preferences and "Geo. Region" If the candidate is open to geographics, make no selection. The candidate record will indicate "Open". Note: Only one region may be selected, but a region selection is not necessary. You may select states without selecting a region.

"Contact Member" name is automatically inserted, as is your "E-Mail" address and "Phone". Just type in the time frame your candidate will be available in "When Available" and any pertinent comments such as "acquired M.D. in India" or "speaks Spanish fluently", etc. Try to include as much information as possible.

If you are not satisfied with your entries you may "Reset" (button at bottom) or "Save" (button at bottom). For demonstration purposes, we will click "Save".    (Next)
